Welcome! My name is Isabel Montesanto. I was born in a hospital with the help of a doula, grew up in the Sacramento Valley and now live in San Jose with family.

I completed DONA International's basic education program earlier this year, and I am learning much more about pregnancy, labor and delivery while working for a licensed midwife. As you and your child enter a new world, I can provide calm and faithful attendance.

What is a doula and why might I want one?

What would you charge?

No more than $400.

What does that fee normally include?

• Two home visits before your due date (get to know each other, make a plan)
• Support from early labor through your first "golden hour" with baby
• Another home visit postpartum

More about your training?

In my DONA-approved course I studied labor patterns, hospital protocol and support techniques for birth and breastfeeding. At Redwood Midwifery I have assisted many checkups and two home births so far.

Do you have experience with my hospital/my unique situation?

Probably not firsthand, but I can help you gather information and meet the unknowns present in every birth.
